Pre-Treatment Instructions

1. Prior to treatment, you should inform your provider if you have a history of Perioral Herpes (cold sores) so an antiviral may be prescribed.
2. Avoid having dermal fillers injected 1-2 months prior to and after procedure.
3. Avoid waxing, facials, electrolysis, threading, extensive sun exposure or any laser treatments one week prior to procedure.
4. Stop all topicals, with the exception of a plain moisturizer, gentle cleanser and sunscreen three days prior to procedure.
5. If using aspirin or blood thinners, please discuss prior to procedure.

Post-Treatment Instructions

1. You may wash your face with a gentle cleanser and cool water.
2. Avoid strenuous exercise and sweating until after skin has healed (up to 5 days or more). If you walk, it should be early AM or PM.
3. Avoid cleansing devices/brushes (i.e., Clarisonic) for 10 days and/or any exfoliating scrubs or topical products.
4. Do not resume your normal skin care routine until instructed by your provider.
5. Use sunscreen as recommended by your provider, starting the day after treatment.
6. If applicable, typically after the peeling process is complete, makeup can be worn.

WHAT RESULTS CAN I EXPECT?
HALO is a complete skin revitalization treatment. You will see overall improvements in your skin including a reduction in the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, reduced pore size, skin reflectivity and glow in addition to significant removal of discoloration.

HOW MANY TREATMENTS DO YOU NEED?
What’s great about Halo is that you can choose how many treatments you want! Discuss your needs with us and you can choose to have one or two more aggressive treatments or have multiple treatments that are less aggressive and achieve a similar goal over a longer period of time.

WHAT CAN THE PATIENT EXPECT DURING A TREATMENT?
Thirty minutes to an hour before the treatment, we may place a topical anesthetic on your skin to reduce the sensation during the procedure. The area will be measured with motion tracking technology to ensure the area is treated evenly. We will then treat each measured section by uniformly rolling the Halo handpiece over the skin until the system recognizes the treatment is complete.

WHAT DOES HALO™ FEEL LIKE?
With a topical anesthetic and integrated cooling technology, most patients experience very little discomfort. Most patients describe the treatment as a feeling of heat with occasional prickling sensations, but are generally comfortable. After the treatment, most patients will continue to feel warm for an additional 15 to 30 minutes, or a bit longer with deeper treatment levels.

HOW SOON AFTER MY TREATMENT CAN I RETURN TO NORMAL ACTIVITIES?
For the first 24 hours you should keep your skin protected according to your clinician’s instructions, but after that you should be able to go about your normal activities. After the first 24 hours your skin will begin to peel, but you will be able to put on makeup. For a facial treatment, you will see very little change on the first day. After two to three days you will develop a light bronzing appearance. By day three or four your skin will peel, revealing your new skin beneath.

WHEN WILL I SEE RESULTS?
You will see initial results between two and five days after your Halo treatment, but your skin will continue to improve over time. Most patients see the greatest pigmentary improvement in the first two to three weeks. This is followed by a dermal regeneration phase that continues to improve for months.

HOW LONG WILL MY RESULTS LAST?
Your Halo results will last for years to come, but you should continue to keep your skin protected at all times using UV sunscreen to protect your new, healthy skin. Each additional Halo treatment you get will only improve the results, giving you even better looking skin.
